HISTORY

The Foster Grandparent Program is one of three Senior Corps Volunteer programs sponsored by The Corporation for National and Community Service: Foster Grandparent Program, Senior Companions and RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program). It was established in 1965 and is the oldest of the three Senior Corps programs. The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors with limited incomes, the opportunity to provide personal one-on-one services to children with exceptional or special needs. When you share your love, time and experience you have the power to help a child who needs you. If you are aged 55 or older and want to share your experience and compassion with a child, consider being a Foster Grandparent volunteer.
